I give you a warm welcome to the website of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Mexican States. In this site, you will be able to discover Azerbaijan, about our traditions, history and culture. At the same time, you will also find useful information regarding the bilateral relation and friendship ties that exist between Azerbaijan and Mexico, as well as with other nations of Latin America. Diplomatic relations between Mexico and Azerbaijan were established in 1992. Since January of 2007, this Embassy opened its doors with the purpose of consolidating the enduring friendship and cooperation relations currently existing between Azerbaijan and this region of the world. Our main task has been to work together with the Mexican authorities in strategic issues for both countries. As well, we have had a strong commitment to pursue new ways of interaction with all countries of the Latin American region. |

Joint declaration of presidents of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia on settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict |

On October 27, 2010, by the invitation of the President of the Russian Federation, presidents of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation met in Astrakhan and discussed in detail the course of and prospects for settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. By having confirmed the provisions of the Joint Declaration, signed in Moscow on November 2, 2008, the presidents stressed that settlement of the conflict by political and diplomatic means require further efforts aimed at strengthening ceasefire and confidence-building measures in the military field, the statement says. |

New York, September 24 President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama have today met in New York.
The two presidents praised the development of the Azerbaijan-USA relations, which, they said, were based on the principles of strategic cooperation. Barack Obama praised President Ilham Aliyev`s leadership role, calling Azerbaijan the most successful and one of the most influential countries in the region. |

The International Baku Jazz Festival |

22 October 2010 The International Baku Jazz Festival kicked off with a concert by the Arena Big Band of Azerbaïdjan. Farah Aliyeva, the festival organiser said: “Everyone loves jazz in Bakou. In the past, all the musicians wanted to come here because we were a jazz city. So since the start of the 21st century, we have been organising festivals. This year is the seventh one. Bakou could become a Mecca for jazz lovers. We want to make Bakou the capital of jazz. We really do.” |

New York, September 24 The Head of State noted in his remarks that UN plays an important role in solving global problems. President Ilham Aliyev drew the attention of session participants to the Nagorno-Karabakh problem. According to him, Azerbaijan favors peace resolution of the conflict, which damages security in the region and world. The Azerbaijan leader pointed out Armenia continues to occupy 20% of Azerbaijan lands. |
